Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Unit Information

• Number of Operating Rooms: 4
• Staffing: 5-6 nurses per shift
• Shifts: Day shift consists of one Charge Nurse and 5-6 RNs. Night shift coverage is provided as needed.
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: daVinci Xi, Hologic Trident, Stryker laparoscopic towers, Hana table, Olympus Cystoscopy Tower
• EHR System: Meditech

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment.
• Conduct patient assessments and communicate effectively with the surgical team.
• Provide direct patient care and support during surgical procedures.
• Facilitate family updates via phone or Surgical Symphony text.
• Complete necessary documentation in the EHR system.
• Assist with lunch and break relief for staff.
• Act as a second nurse/support for recovery nursing during after-hours operations.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Meditech electronic health records.
• Prior experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an Operating Room setting.

Work Schedule

• Typical shifts are five 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, with potential for four 10-hour shifts if staffing allows.
• Weekend and evening call coverage will be part of the full-time staff rotation.

Dress Code

Facility-distributed scrubs will be provided for this position.
