Position Details

• Unit: MICU
• Shift Details: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other
• Call Requirements: No
• Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess strong critical thinking skills and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an ICU setting. The following certifications are required:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIH Stroke Certification

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in MICU & MSICU
• Exposure to IABP
• Experience with CRRT
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system

Licensure

An active RN license in the state is required; temporary licenses will not be accepted.

Responsibilities

Key procedures performed on the unit include but are not limited to:

• Chest tube insertion
• Tracheostomy care
• GI scopes
• Intubations
• Central line and arterial line placements
• Nasogastric tube placement
• Foley catheter insertion
• Dressing changes

Dress Code

The dress code for the unit includes:

• Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails
• Hair: Must be neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not permitted.
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible.
• Body Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.

Unit Policies

All employees are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

• Clock in time is 6:38 AM/PM; arriving after 6:45 is considered tardy.
• Badging in and out for shifts is mandatory.
• A full 30-minute lunch break is required.
