CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

This position is within a Cardio-Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit, accommodating two surgical rooms with a dedicated staff.

• Bed Capacity: 2 rooms
• Staff Composition: 1 RN, 1 Tech (2 RNs/1 Tech on call)
• Day Shift Staffing: 1 RN, 1 Tech
• Estimated Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment Used: Impella, ECMO, Bypass Pump, Laser (lead extraction), EVH, Rapid Transfuser
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Call Requirements: On-call is split and dependent on staffing

Typical Responsibilities

• Perform and assist in various surgical procedures, including joint replacement, ENT, orthopedic, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic, and plastic surgeries.
• Responsible for patient care which includes observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Maintain proficiency in all service lines; scrub experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an acute operating room setting.
  • Ability to scrub for all service lines.
• Preferred:
  • Experience in robotics, orthopedics, spine, and gynecology.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent bedside manner and proficiency in charting.

Work Environment

Operating room scrubs will be provided by the unit.
