Unit Overview

Join a dedicated team on a Neuro Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit that provides high-quality care to patients. This unit features:

• Location: South Austin, TX
• Number of Beds: 30
• Staffing: 60 total staff members
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Standard Equipment: Welch Allyn Vital signs, COWs, Hoyer lift, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, Teleneuro
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekend Requirements: 4 shifts per schedule
• On Call: Not required

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following mandatory qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• IV certification for LVNs
• NIH Stroke Scale knowledge

Preferred qualifications include:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Typical Procedures

Our unit specializes in various procedures including:

• NIH Stroke Scoring and EEGs
• Gastric decompression and wound care

Dress Code

Protocol requires:

• Scrubs: Navy color
• No hoop nose piercings allowed
