Unit Information

This position is within the Neuroscience and Epilepsy unit, focusing on patient care for neurological conditions.

• Number of Beds: 29
• Staffing: 9 Registered Nurses (RN), 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on Day Shift; 9 RN, 2 PCT on Night Shift
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Electronic Medical Records: Meditech

Qualifications

All candidates must possess the following certifications and skills:

• Required Skills:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Time Management
• Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Responsibilities

This role entails providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including:

• TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack)
• Stroke Management
• Epilepsy Care
• Ictal Spectrometry

Work Environment

The staff works collaboratively in a supportive environment, and the unit adheres to policies that prioritize patient safety and care quality.

Schedule

This position includes:

• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule period (4 weeks)

Floating Areas

Staff may be required to float to other acute care areas, including:

• Medical/Surgical
• General Surgery
• Renal Transplant
• Telemetry
• Neuroscience
• Orthopedics

Dress Code

Staff are required to wear royal blue scrubs while on duty.
