Unit Information
This position is within the Neuroscience and Epilepsy unit, focusing on patient care for neurological conditions.
- Number of Beds: 29
- Staffing: 9 Registered Nurses (RN), 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on Day Shift; 9 RN, 2 PCT on Night Shift
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
- Electronic Medical Records: Meditech
Qualifications
All candidates must possess the following certifications and skills:
- Required Skills:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Time Management
- Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Responsibilities
This role entails providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including:
- TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack)
- Stroke Management
- Epilepsy Care
- Ictal Spectrometry
Work Environment
The staff works collaboratively in a supportive environment, and the unit adheres to policies that prioritize patient safety and care quality.
Schedule
This position includes:
- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule period (4 weeks)
Floating Areas
Staff may be required to float to other acute care areas, including:
- Medical/Surgical
- General Surgery
- Renal Transplant
- Telemetry
- Neuroscience
- Orthopedics
Dress Code
Staff are required to wear royal blue scrubs while on duty.
