Description

Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Description

This position involves working in the Emergency Department, providing critical care to patients in urgent need of medical assistance.

Unit Specifics

The Emergency Department currently manages a daily volume of 105 patients, equipped with:

  • Number of Beds: 20
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1
  • Staffing Description: RN, Unit Clerk/Monitor Tech, Paramedic, Advanced Care Tech
  • Type of Equipment: GE Monitors
  • Documentation System: MEDITECH

Scheduling Requirements

  • Every other weekend
  • 36 hours/week (12-hour shifts)

Floating Policy

No floating between units.

Patient Experience Requirements

  • Utilization of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)
  • Effective communication boards
  • Regular rounding on patients

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to assess, treat, and manage emergency patients of all ages in a collaborative environment. Candidates should be committed to providing exceptional patient experiences and be capable of delivering clearly defined discharge instructions. A focus on patient-centered care and efficient patient flow through the ED is essential.

Team Environment

Join a team with tenured staff and supportive charge nurses, contributing to an average discharge length of stay (LOS) of 150 minutes and admitted LOS of 240 minutes. The department boasts minimal extended holds after admissions, an engaged provider group ensuring rapid patient evaluation, and strong team collaboration.
