Unit Information

The Labor and Delivery unit is designed to provide comprehensive care for patients during various stages of pregnancy and childbirth. The unit features:

• Common patient diagnoses: Obstetrics (ante-partum, intra-partum, post-partum), GYN, and newborns.
• Specialty equipment: OBIX for managing patient information within the Stork system.
• Total number of beds: 18, including 3 triage beds, 2 antepartum beds, 2 operating rooms for C-sections, 3 recovery beds, and 8 labor and delivery beds.

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to all pregnant patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Monitoring patient vitals and progress during labor.
• Administering medication and managing pain relief options.
• Assisting with childbirth and postpartum care.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop patient care plans.
• Educating patients and families on prenatal care and childbirth practices.

Position Details

• Shift: 12-hour variable shifts.
• Must be open to working both day and night shifts.
• Floating to other units may be required.
• Scrub color: Ceil blue.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery or related obstetric nursing.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies effectively.
