Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit. This highly specialized unit provides exceptional care for patients undergoing a variety of open heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the cardiac care ICU.
- Utilize specialized equipment including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and epicardial pacemakers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in intensive care nursing, specifically within a cardiac care setting.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Certification in Clinical Nurse Certification (CCRN) and NIH Stroke Scale certification are preferred.
Schedule and Holiday Expectations
The schedule will vary and includes day shifts from 7AM to 7PM. Candidates must be willing to work 2 major holidays from Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day, and 1 minor holiday such as the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve.
