Emergency Room Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join our healthcare team in the Glenbrook region. This position will involve providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting.
• Assess and monitor patients' conditions and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Assist in coordinating care among various healthcare team members.

Schedule Details

This position requires availability for:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• A minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend shifts.
• Holidays as needed.

Experience Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• A successful completion of an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher, to be submitted upon application.
• Ability to pass an EKG test on the first day of employment.

Licensure and Certification Requirements

Qualified candidates must hold the following certifications:

• Active Illinois nursing license.
• CPR and ACLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke certification.
• PALS certification.
• TNCC or TNS certification.

Additional Information

This Emergency Room primarily serves an elderly population and has a significant focus on cardiovascular care. The facility treats approximately 3,000 patients monthly and includes pediatric patients within its service offerings. Experience with Epic electronic health records is preferred.
