Position Overview

Job Details

• Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Shift Length: 10 or 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years

Shift Information

This position offers flexible scheduling options, including the opportunity for block scheduling on weekends. We invite qualified candidates who are willing to adapt their shifts to meet unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of various cardiac procedures with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with a team comprising two technologists, one focusing on monitoring hemodynamics and the other assisting with scrubbing duties.
• Support RNs who administer conscious sedation and contribute to overall procedural efficiency.
• Participate in the rotation for inpatient and emergent cases, ensuring availability as needed.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple cases effectively.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ARRT, BLS Certification, Fluoroscopy
• Must have current Cath Lab experience.
• Comfortable with conscious and moderate sedation, along with procedural processes.
• Proficient in cardiac drips (such as Integrilin, dopamine, and vasopressors) and balloon pump management.
• Experience in handling various cases including STEMI, coronary, vascular, and neuro interventions.

Unit Description

The Cath Lab features five suites specialized for diverse cases, including:

• 2 suites primarily for coronary cases
• 1 suite for peripheral cases
• 1 suite for vascular and neuro cases
• 1 suite for electrophysiology (EP) cases

On average, the unit handles between 10 to 22 cases per day. A lead technologist is responsible for room assignments and overall coordination within the lab.

Weekend and Call Requirements

• Rotating call for inpatient cases once a week.
• One weekend call per month, typically from Friday evening through Monday morning. Schedule is subject to change based on unit needs.
