Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Tech to join our dynamic Cardiac Cath Lab team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in providing high-quality patient care and technical support during various cardiac procedures.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Number of Suites/Labs: 2 beds
• Average Cases per Day: 8 cases
• Electronic Medical Record System: Cerner

Shift Information

• Hours: M-F 0700-1730 with required call
• Call Requirement: Average 12 days per month including at least one weekend; response time is 30 minutes
• Holidays: Rotating call assignments
• Scrub Color: Hospital-provided scrubs

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
• Certifications: BLS Certification and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Verification
• Skills: Must have scrub experience for PCI/STEMI cases and be able to scrub for cardiac and peripheral procedures
• Additional Requirements: No radiology licenses required, but candidates must be able to scrub for various cardiac invasive procedures excluding structural heart procedures

• Charge Nurse: Yes
• Cath Lab/IR Technologists: Yes
• IV Team: Yes
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy: Available 24/7

Common Cases Handled

• All cardiac invasive procedures (excluding structural heart)
• Peripheral procedures: carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, peripheral diagnostic and intervention
• Note: No "dirty" procedures such as PEGs, G-tubes, nephrostomy tubes, etc.

Orientation

Floor-specific orientation depends on skill level but typically involves 1 to 2 shifts.
