Physical Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team, primarily working in a skilled nursing facility with opportunities to float between other locations as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both acute care and skilled nursing.

Work Schedule

  • Shift Length: 8 hours
  • Typical Work Hours: Day shift starting at 0800
  • Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts per month

Unit Information

The Physical Therapy unit focuses on inpatient rehabilitation with a variety of patient diagnoses including:

  • Total joint replacements
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Deconditioning
  • Pneumonia
  • Balance difficulties associated with general medical conditions
  • Chronic conditions in geriatric patients
  • Orthopedic and neurological conditions

Candidates will be responsible for treating 8-9 patients per day, operating mainly within a skilled nursing facility while also undergoing training to provide support in an inpatient acute care setting.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid California Physical Therapy license
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred; new graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered

Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Able to work independently and perform patient transfers competently
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating within an interdisciplinary team

Additional Information

The physical therapist will undergo floor-specific orientation to ensure familiarity with the unit and patient care protocols. The unit utilizes Cerner as the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Uniform color will be burgundy.
