Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Stepdown Unit. The successful candidate will work nights, providing high-quality care to patients in the PCU/Med-Surg/Oncology unit.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available, balanced to unit needs

Unit Information

• Unit Type: PCU/Oncology
• Primary Patient Population: Adults undergoing oncology treatment and trauma care
• Number of Beds: 18

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not mandatory
• First-time travelers are accepted

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS (AHA)
• ONS/ONCC certification is preferred but not required

Patient Care and Responsibilities

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-1:5 day and night shifts
• Frequent patient rounding and bedside shift reporting to enhance patient experience
• Occasionally titrate drips including insulin, Cardizem, and chemotherapy medications
• Comfortable managing high-flow respiratory equipment

Support Staff

The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including:

• Nursing Assistants
• Charge Nurse
• Physical and Occupational Therapists
• RN Case Manager
• Social Workers
• Educators
• Dietitians

Orientation and Training

• Orientation includes two days of unit-specific training
• Passing a skills exam during orientation is mandatory
