Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our float pool team. This position involves floating to various units within a specified region, providing essential care to patients with diverse medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in telemetry and medical-surgical units.
• Float to various units such as ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as needed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement care plans.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapy, including titration of drips.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry nursing within the last 3 years.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience in neuro nursing preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC) and Alaris systems preferred.
• Ability to float across multiple specialties, including cardiac, neuro, oncology, and more.

Schedule

Shifts are primarily days, with a requirement to work 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule. Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and adhere to two formats: either a single facility or Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments.

Additional Information

• Travelers are required to secure housing within a 60-mile radius of the designated zone.
• Must be available for a week of orientation and flexible with shift assignments.
• Expected to adhere to attendance policies, with no more than 3 missed shifts during a 13-week contract.
