Job Description

We are seeking an experienced LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care in our Labor and Delivery department and will have the opportunity to float within skillsets as needed.

Job Details

• Unit Type: L&D (Labor and Delivery)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Department: LDRP RN - Float
• Shifts: Days, with call requirements, every third weekend, and every other holiday

Required Certifications

• BLS Certification
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE

Unit Information

• Number of L&D Beds: 15 total - 7 L&D, 8 Postpartum
• Number of OR Suites for C-Sections: 1
• Births Per Month: Approximately 58
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for pitocin, magnesium, or insulin drips; 1:3 couplet care
• Common Diagnoses: Mix of obstetric and neonate cases, including hypertension and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)

Qualifications & Skills

• Able to read and interpret fetal strips
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with quality metrics
• Previous travel experience is preferred
• Required to titrate drips, including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium

Team Structure

• Charge Nurse on each shift, who also takes an assignment
• Support staff available, including CNAs for vitals, transfer paperwork, and patient ambulation
• Registered Nurses are responsible for reading their own fetal strips
• Registered Nurses are not required to perform troubleshooting on respiratory therapy equipment

Scheduling

• Shifts: 0645-1915, 1845-0715
• Self-scheduling: Not available; block scheduling is allowed
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday

Orientation

• Three shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
