Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position provides care within a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit setting, primarily catering to trauma, neuro-stroke, and critical care patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in an ICU/Trauma ICU environment.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies.
• Titrate medications such as vasopressors and sedation as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists and respiratory therapists.
• Participate in patient assessments, including interpreting telemetry strips.
• Provide support and guidance to patients and their families.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Bed Capacity: 30 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:1-2, typically 90% of the time will be a 1:2 ratio.
• Charge Nurse available 24/7 without patient assignments.
• House supervisor on site 24/7.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS are mandatory; PALS is preferred.
• Experience with ICP monitoring and the management of post-TPA patients is essential.

Shift Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights with every other weekend availability.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
• Unit tech support available for all 30 beds, primarily for clerical responsibilities.

Floating Requirements

Potential to float to other PCU, CICU, tele, or med-surg units based on staffing needs.
