Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment, ensuring patient comfort, and collaborating effectively with the surgical team.

Shift Details

Shift Type: Days (Friday - Sunday)
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
Number of Suites: 17
Average Cases per Day: 35 on weekdays, 10 on weekends
Common Cases: Orthopedic, Neurological, General Surgery
Experience Required: Trauma experience preferred

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Room RN
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association

Scheduling and Orientation

Self-scheduling is available
Weekend shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
No on-call requirements
Holiday coverage required if scheduled on a weekend
Orientation will take place on-site with a designated week for training

Additional Information

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System: EPIC
Provided dress code for scrubs
No floating required between units
Response time for emergencies: 30 minutes
