Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) with trauma and neuro experience to join our dynamic surgical team. The OR RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures in the operating room. This position requires availability for a rotating call schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the perioperative care of patients including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and maintain patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
• Participate in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
• Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Perform scrubbing duties as necessary, although not required for this position.
• Fulfill on-call requirements as part of a team rotation, approximately 120 hours per contract.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Proven experience in trauma and neuro cases is mandatory.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.

Unit Information

• Number of surgical suites: 16
• Average number of cases per day: 30
• Common cases include: General Surgery, ENT, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedic, and Robotic surgeries.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: Epic.
• Orientation provided specific to the unit.

Work Environment

The operating room team consists of two OR technicians on shift, with a charge nurse and house supervisor present during working hours. Full compliance with dress codes is required, and scrubs will be provided. The facility is located in a region with a 60-mile radius for consideration of applicants.

Scheduling and Call Requirements

Shifts will typically run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with specific days varying. Call requirements include a response time of 30 minutes, and the potential for floating within designated zones based on staffing needs.
