Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Number of Beds: 55
Patient Population: Adults and occasional pediatrics (15 years and older)

Shift Information

Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Times: 0630-1830, 1830-0630
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: 2 Years
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS
• Required Competencies: Telemetry
• Driver's license required for verification of radius rule

Unit Characteristics

• RN Ratio (Days): 1:4
• RN Ratio (Nights): 1:4
• Nursing Assistant Support: Available
• Charge Nurse: Yes
• Additional Support Staff: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy
• Common Patient Diagnoses: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID-19, subdural hematoma, weakness
• Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, Cardizem, Insulin
• Specialty Equipment: Mechanical lifts in every other room
