Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in a Float Pool capacity, specializing in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care across multiple units, primarily focusing on geriatric and orthopedic patients, as well as those recovering from various cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients in a float pool across designated units.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, ensuring timely interventions when necessary.
- Titrate medications, including but not limited to Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Participate in orientation and training initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit setting.
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract signing.
Unit Information
The Float Pool encompasses medical-surgical, telemetry, and progressive care unit settings across multiple locations, with an average patient census distributed among various units. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 for Progressive Care Units and 1:5-6 for Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Units.
Work Environment
- Shifts are generally 12 hours, with night shifts being the primary focus.
- Every other weekend and holiday commitment required.
- A scheduler will assign shifts, providing notification two hours prior to the start of each shift.
- Flexible scheduling options may be available.
Additional Information
All staff members are required to wear solid color professional scrubs. An initial orientation program will be provided, encompassing general hospital policies and specific unit protocols.
