Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. This position is located in Idaho Falls, ID, and involves a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Number of ORs: 13
• Staffing:
  • 25 RNs
  • 29 CSTs
• Patient Ratios: Average of 50 hours of surgical time (patient in room) Monday through Friday, with varying weekend volumes.
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective patient care in the operating room setting.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to AORN standards.
• Participate in the preparation and management of equipment for surgeries.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • 3+ years of operating room experience.
  • Trauma experience.
  • Flexibility with shifts and call requirements.
  • Current RN license in Idaho.
  • BLS certification.
• Preferred:
  • CNOR certification.
  • Experience in burn, robotic, or neuro surgery.

Typical Procedures

• Burn care: wound debridement, skin grafting, dressing changes.
• Dental procedures: restorations and oral maxillofacial surgeries.
• ENT surgeries: tonsillectomies, parathyroidectomies, cochlear implants.
• Gastroenterology: EGD, colonoscopy.
• General surgeries: various surgical interventions.
• Gynecological surgeries: ablations, hysterectomies.
• Neurosurgery: spinal fusions, craniotomies.
• Open heart surgeries: CABG, femoropopliteal bypass.
• Orthopedic surgery: trauma care, joint replacements.
• Robotics: gynecological, general, and urology procedures.
• Urology procedures: cystoscopy, TURB, TURP.

Work Schedule
