Position Overview

This position requires a full 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered. Candidates must have experience in either neuro or cardiovascular settings.

Shift Information

• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

• Number of Beds: 32
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1
• Common diagnoses include: Level 1 trauma cases, falls, gunshot wounds (GSW), blunt trauma, motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), post-surgical patients, specialty neuro-surgery cases, strokes, and sepsis.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and titrate drips as required.
• Conduct assessments and monitor patient conditions.
• Collaborate with medical teams to provide optimal patient care.
• Float to tele units with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience is required.
• Experience in either neuro or cardiovascular care is preferred.
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam must be completed 24-48 hours prior to acceptance of a position.
• Pass/fail Sim Lab assessment is required on the first day of orientation.

Schedule Requirements

• Weekends: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Holiday Requirements: 1 holiday off during assignment.
• Self-scheduling allowed, but the manager may adjust shifts based on unit needs.

Additional Notes

Successful candidates will be required to validate skills for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as needed. Orientation will last 1-2 days specific to the department.
