ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess significant experience in critical care settings and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirements: Rotating
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Unit Information

This ICU unit supports high-acuity patients, including those on ECMO, heart transplant, and post-CABG care. Our focus is on delivering exceptional care and ensuring positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor hemodynamics and manage ventilated patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal care.
• Participate in bedside shift reporting and maintain accurate patient documentation.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and CPR in critical care.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech documentation system.
• Previous CVICU experience is a plus.

Certifications

• Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted).

Unit Guidelines

We emphasize a professional work environment. Staff are expected to adhere to the following:

• Dress Code: Scrubs in royal blue; maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no artificial nails or gel polish.
• Hair: Neat and clean with no extreme styles; long hair must be pulled back.
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible.
• Piercings: Only earrings are permitted; visible body piercings are prohibited.

Unit-Specific Policies

Floating between ICUs is permitted based on patient volume and acuity; individual circumstances may necessitate floating to Progressive Care Units (PCU) on rare occasions.
