Contract Overview

This is a 17-week contract opportunity for winter planning, focusing on Labor and Delivery nursing.

Minimum Experience Required

Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience and be comfortable with or have exposure to perinatal practices.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Fetal Monitoring

Core Skills and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have strong Labor & Delivery experience and be proficient in the following:

• Cervical examinations
• Providing antepartum care
• Labor management
• Performing amnio infusions
• Administering epidurals
• Monitoring fetal status
• Starting and managing IVs
• Administering Pitocin
• Circulating during C-sections
• Baby catching and receiving
• Conducting APGAR assessments
• Knowledge of breastfeeding practices

Post-Partum Care

Candidates should demonstrate comfort with all aspects of post-partum care, from transition to discharge for both mother and baby.

Additional Skills

While not required, scrub experience is considered a bonus. There will always be a Scrub Tech on site, and scrub-trained RNs may be utilized for sick calls.

Miscellaneous

• EMR: Epic (strongly preferred)
• Facility Capacity: 20 total beds (12 L&D, 8 Post-Partum/Antepartum, 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 OR, 6-bed Level II NICU)
• No on-call requirements
• Scrubs: Teal scrubs will be provided
• Multilingual candidates preferred, especially those who speak Russian or Spanish
