Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room, Medsurg, and Swing Bed unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)

  • Medsurg: 10

  • ER: 1:3-4
  • Medsurg Days: 1:5
  • Medsurg Nights: 1:6
• Common Diagnoses:
  • ER: Traumas, Strokes, STEMIs, Chest pain, Respiratory conditions, Lacerations
  • Medsurg: Pediatric to geriatric patients, Pneumonia, UTIs, Observation patients, Short-term swing bed patients
• Common Drips: Heparin, Levophed

Role Responsibilities

This role requires the RN to provide comprehensive nursing care in a collaborative and effective manner.

• The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and administering medications.
• Charge nurses will be present on each shift, though they will also take patient assignments.
• The RN is expected to read and interpret telemetry strips independently.
• On the Medsurg unit, nurse aides will support nursing staff with a ratio of 1 aide to every 8 patients.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Emergency Room required, including charge nurse experience.
• Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS Certification
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
• Critical Access experience is strongly preferred.

Scheduling Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Notes: Nights, every other weekend, and every third holiday.
• Additional Requirements: The selected candidate may be required to float between ER, Medsurg, and Swing Bed units.
