Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality care in a labor and delivery setting, working in a fast-paced environment alongside a supportive healthcare team.
Position Details
- Unit Type: Labor and Delivery
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
Required Certifications
- BLS Certification
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
Responsibilities
- Provide care for obstetric patients and neonates, following AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios.
- Monitor and interpret fetal strips effectively.
- Titrate medication drips, including Pitocin, Insulin, and Magnesium as required.
- Float to MedSurg and ER departments as needed within skill set.
- Collaborate with team members to meet quality metrics and critical care standards.
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and training.
Unit Information
- Number of L&D Beds: 15 (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum)
- Number of OR Suites for C-Sections: 1
- Average Births: Approximately 58 per month
Staffing and Support
- Charge nurse available on each shift, taking an assignment.
- Nurse aides and surgical techs support patient care activities.
- No OB/Neonatologists or Anesthesia in-house 24/7.
- Medical staff is available as required for patient needs.
Qualifications
- Proven critical thinking skills and ability to manage acute situations.
- Adaptive to change and demonstrates effective communication skills.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
Scheduling and Expectations
- Weekends: Every third weekend
- Holidays: Every other holiday
- No self-scheduling; block scheduling is available.
- Orientation includes three shifts specific to unit practices.
Dress Code
Scrubs are provided in maroon color. Nurses will change into surgical scrubs upon arrival to the unit.
