Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit. The ideal candidate must have a current Illinois nursing license, along with ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIHSS certifications. Candidates should be graduates of an accredited nursing program, and education verification will be required.

Shift Information

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Minimum Years of Experience: 2.0 years

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and applicable State laws.
• Document patient care in accordance with established standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and implement individualized patient care plans as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy, including instruction for patients and their families.
• Participate in departmental or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
• Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units and departments in support of patients’ longitudinal care plans.
• Employ critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance patient experience, appropriately escalating concerns to the necessary chain of command.

Certifications/Requirements

• General Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, NIHSS
