Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Flex Pool, with responsibilities that may include floating between various medical and surgical units. Candidates must be adaptable to different environments and capable of handling diverse patient care procedures.

Shift Information

Successful candidates will work 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915, scheduled for 36 hours per week following an orientation period. Please note that while hours are scheduled, there is no guarantee of total hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Current and active State of HI license upon the start of the assignment
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS (Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC)

Responsibilities

• Float between medical units, surgical units, and cardiovascular units as needed
• Adhere to the nurse-to-patient ratio guidelines specific to each unit
• Utilize Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes as part of patient care
• Participate in required holiday coverage

Unit Information

The following units may be included in the float rotation:

• Medical Unit - 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
• Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute) - 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
• Cardiovascular Unit - 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4

Dress Code

Clean and professional nursing attire is required, including scrubs.

Orientation and Training

An orientation period is provided for each unit to ensure familiarity and understanding of procedures and protocols.
