Job Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join a dynamic team. This role requires an individual who can thrive in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

The Emergency Room is equipped with:

• Level I Trauma Center with Pediatric Certification
• Comprehensive Stroke Center
• 20 patient beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, and hallway beds
• Fast Track area with 6 beds and a separate triage area with 3 beds

Core Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients presenting with acute conditions including trauma, sepsis, stroke, and chest pain.
• Administer medications and manage all common drips seen in a Level I trauma ER.
• Collaborate with ED physicians and mid-level providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain patient safety and quality of care throughout the ER.
• Interpret telemetry strips as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency room experience preferred.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (NRP preferred).
• Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment

• Patient-to-nurse ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in observation, and 1:1 in ICU/trauma.
• Dedicated charge nurse present on each shift.
• Nurse aids, EMTs, and paramedics will support patient care with designated ratios.

Additional Information

• 1 week of onboarding with 2 additional shifts at designated locations for training.
• Floating to the observation unit and other nearby emergency rooms may be required.
• Weekends and holiday shifts will be scheduled based on departmental needs.
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas; compliance is mandatory.
