Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to float between various ER satellite locations. This position offers the opportunity to work in multiple settings, ensuring comprehensive patient care across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in fast-paced emergency settings.
• Collaborate with a small team, typically working alongside one other RN.
• Participate in first day pass/fail testing for essential clinical skills, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Maintain competence in nursing skills, particularly in sterile field procedures.
• Engage in educational training on lifts, restraints, and wound care.
• Deliver effective patient care while adhering to established protocols and practices.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC (CPI preferred but not required).
• Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam prior to start and additional pass/fail assessments on Day 1 of orientation.
• Competency in maintaining a sterile field during clinical procedures.
• Previous experience in emergency room settings preferred.

Work Details

• Schedule: Shifts are 12 hours in length, with weekend obligations every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
• Patient-to-nurse ratios at 4:1.
• EMR: Experience with Cerner preferred.
• In-house lab draws conducted by ER staff.
• Vents: Must be capable of managing ventilated patients.

Additional Information

This position requires floating between various ER locations within the area, including Goodyear, Camelback, Mesa, Glendale, and Surprise. Schedule will be provided in advance to ensure clarity regarding reporting locations.
