Job Summary

The Speech Therapist will provide high-quality care for patients with speech and language disorders. They will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, providing assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' communication and swallowing abilities.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Speech Pathology
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Days: Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Required Certifications

• BLS Certification
• Certified Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Certificate via ASHA

Unit Information

• Common Patient Population: Inpatient and outpatient clients, including stroke, TBI, neuro disorders, trauma, and swallowing difficulties.
• Average Patients Treated Per Day:
  • Outpatient: Up to 9 patients
  • Inpatient: Up to 13 patients
  • Rehab: Varies based on assignment
• Support Staff: Rehabilitation Aides, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Physical Therapy Assistants typically available to assist.

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirement: Varies based on specific assignments.
• Holidays: No mandatory coverage required for holidays.
• Uniform: Maroon polo shirt, dark pants, closed-toe shoes; lab coat is optional.
• Orientation: 1.5 days of job-specific and unit orientation, including Cerner training.
• Pharmacy: 24/7 availability.
• Travel Experience: Preferred, especially in trauma settings.
