Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Details

The role involves working in the Emergency Department for a contract period of 13 weeks, covering evening shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The position is vital in providing comprehensive care to patients in urgent medical situations.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30 physical beds, 8 hall beds
• Staffing: Total of 77 staff members
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Equipment Used:
  • Baxter IV pumps
  • GE Monitors
  • Ventilators
  • BiPAP/CPAP
  • Belmont Rapid Infusers
  • Portable EKG machine
• Electronic Medical Records: Meditech

Qualifications and Skills

Required Skills:

• Compassion

Preferred Skills:

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

Typical Procedures Performed

• National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale assessments
• IV placement and blood draws
• Administering Moderate Sedation
• Tenecteplase (TNK) administration
• Cardiac monitoring

Required Certifications

Schedule

The position requires availability to work every other weekend.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience is preferred.
