ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient cases in the Intensive Care Unit.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: 2+ years of ICU experience

Qualifications

• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
• Experience in CPRT and IABP training preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in managing patients with diagnoses such as CHF, DKA, Respiratory Failure, Metabolic Acidosis, Renal Failure, and Encephalopathy.
• Capability to titrate drips, including but not limited to cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ICU.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including NP and MD, for patient management.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment including vents, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices; RT is available 24/7 for support.

Nursing Support

• Charge Nurse is assigned on each shift without a patient assignment.
• Nurse Aids/Patient Care Techs may be available depending on unit census.

Scheduling

• Self-scheduling options available.
• Weekend requirements: 6 shifts in a 6-week period.
• Holiday requirements: 1 major and 1 minor for spring and fall.

Orientation

• Unit/department-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts.

Dress Code

• Scrub color: Royal blue.
