Classification: RN – Med/Tele (ACLS REQUIRED)

Shift Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift/Workdays: Rotating Weekends
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• BLS Certification - REQUIRED
• ACLS Certification - REQUIRED
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Tele specialty experience
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Meditech documentation system

Certifications Required:

• Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• Compact RN License - Active

Unit Procedures

• General Med/Surg care
• IV initiation
• NG tube insertion
• Foley catheter insertion
• Dressing changes
• Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assistance

Patient Experience

The RN is responsible for nursing practice decisions and actions, which include promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and nursing staff. This requires the acquisition of specialized knowledge and skills, consistent clinical practice with established standards, and the supervision of designated staff members. Competence in the following areas is essential:

• Patient Experience
• AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)
• Bedside Reporting
• Hourly Rounding
• Service Recovery Steps

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy Blue with Med City Embroidery (Proof of purchase required)
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gels, or next-generation enhancements allowed
• Hair: Neat and clean; should not include extreme styles or colors. Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back while working.
• Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; body art that cannot be covered will be addressed individually.
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited.
