Job Description

This position is for a nursing role in a 25-bed medical unit, where you will provide care for a diverse patient population. The unit features 11 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms. The nursing staff ratio is 5:1 during day shifts and 5-6:1 during night shifts, with the possibility of total care for one patient. The unit primarily caters to stroke patients, post-operative cases including amputations and patients requiring various care such as heparin drips, wound care, and support for conditions like altered mental status, Aki, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, implementing appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient information and care provided.
• Participate in patient and family education.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• ACLS certification.
• NIHSS certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Shift Information

This position is for night shifts, and nurses will be expected to work three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holiday coverage.
