Description

Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering high-quality care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. The nurse will demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership while planning for the safe delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients in adherence to established standards.
  • Utilize clinical competencies and engage in continuing education to maintain skill levels.
  • Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
  • Offer direction and supervision to assigned personnel in patient care settings.
  • Anticipate patient needs and engage in effective planning for care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency care setting.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Active nursing license in the state.
  • Experience with Cerner electronic medical records preferred.
  • Charge nurse experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to float to various units as needed.

Facility Information

Trauma Level III certified with capabilities for Stroke and STEMI receiving.

Work Environment

Night shift schedule with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
