Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care within a small critical access hospital. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care across various areas, including ER, acute care, and long-term care (LTC), as there are no separate units in this facility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the ER setting and support acute and LTC areas when necessary.
• Administer medications and perform procedures for patients in LTC and acute care.
• Provide backup support in the acute and LTC areas during low patient volume in the ER.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Information

• 6 shifts of 12 hours each, totaling 72 hours over a two-week period.
• Every third weekend off.
• Holiday coverage is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Hawaii Nursing License by the start of the assignment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department (ED).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
