Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and play a vital role in supporting patients with neurological conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit: Neuro ICU
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 - 2
• Common Diagnoses: CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, neuro interventional radiology, ventriculostomies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, providing critical care interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and procedures as directed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Be prepared to float to sister facilities when required.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro ICU is preferred.
• Strong understanding of EKG interpretation, ventilator management, and critical care protocols.

Work Schedule

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift: Nights
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays rotated with core staff

Additional Information

• Orientation includes 1-2 days on the floor with a preceptor.
• Self-scheduling is available, with schedules released 4 weeks in advance.
• Opportunities for overtime and extra shifts may be available.
• Scrub Color: Navy; under shirts must be navy, white, or black; scrub jackets optional in navy.
• Located in a state-of-the-art unit with a strong Stroke Program and Neuro Center.
