We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). This position is critical in providing respiratory services in a healthcare setting, facilitating patient care, and working alongside other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal respiratory function for patients across various service lines.

Unit Information

• Location: City, State
• Number of Beds: 854
• Number of Staff: 120
• Day Shift Staffing: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines; 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines.
• Night Shift Staffing: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines; 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines.
• Patient Ratios: 10 - 25
• Type of Equipment:
  • GE R860 Adult Ventilators
  • Draeger Infant/Peds Ventilators
  • Newport HT70 Transport Ventilator
  • V60 Non-Invasive Device
  • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow High Flow Oxygen Devices
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Required Skills:
  • North Carolina Respiratory License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Preferred Skills:
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will perform a variety of clinical procedures and assessments to ensure optimal patient care. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Administering respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Monitoring patient responses to therapy and making appropriate adjustments.
• Operating and maintaining respiratory support equipment.
• Providing education to patients and families regarding respiratory care.

Work Schedule
