Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team, specifically in the Stroke Stepdown unit. This position involves caring for adult patients with a variety of medical conditions.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: MS Stroke Stepdown Patients
- Number of Beds: 64
- Common Diagnoses: Stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, pulmonary issues.
- Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes.
Shift Information
This role requires working the night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating to other units may be required.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing, with specific expertise in stroke stepdown care.
- Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; NIHSS can be obtained prior to start.
- Active NY RN license and all active RN licenses must be documented through NURSYS report verification.
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
