Job Description
Join our team as a Registered Nurse in Intermediate Care. This role involves providing critical care to patients with complex health issues. You will work within a dynamic environment that focuses on neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory cases.
Unit Information
- Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Number of Beds: 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds
- Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction, CV stepdown, Post-operative cases
- Specialty Equipment: Temp pacer, Chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo
- Ventilator Support: Yes - Chronic vents, unable to wean (Respiratory Therapy support available)
- Patient Demographics: Adults aged 18 years and older
Shift Information
- Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
- Floating Required: Yes
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Qualifications
- Current and active New York Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit or Progressive Care Unit
- Documented travel experience
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC
