Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intermediate Care Unit. This role will involve providing high-quality care to adult patients with various critical conditions.

Unit Information

The Intermediate Care Unit specializes in managing patients with the following common diagnoses:

• Neurological Conditions
• Cardiac Issues
• Trauma
• Respiratory Disorders (e.g., COPD, DKA, Sepsis)
• Myocardial Infarction
• Post-operative Care

The unit is equipped to handle advanced medical interventions, including:

• Temporary Pacing
• Chest Tubes
• Arterial Lines
• BiPAP Therapy
• Neptune Vapo

Patient Demographics

Patients in this unit typically range from 18 years to adult. The unit comprises 64 beds, with 15 designated for neuro patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Be prepared to float to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care or Progressive Care Unit.
• Active RN license in New York and/or other states as applicable.
• Current certifications in AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.

Shift Information

This position is for day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Dress Code

The required scrub color for this position is navy blue.

Location

This position is based in a busy healthcare environment located in the vicinity of New York.
