Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room Supervisor with L&D and PACU Experience

Job Overview

An experienced Registered Nurse (RN) is sought to oversee daily operations in the operating room, specifically with a focus on labor and delivery (L&D) and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) areas. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and extensive clinical experience to effectively manage surgical schedules and patient flow.

Location

Position located in a facility in City, State.

Shift

• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
• Alternative schedule of four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) available upon request

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee surgical schedules, room turnover, and patient flow to ensure efficient operations.
• Provide direct patient care as needed, particularly in L&D and PACU settings.
• Manage staffing, shift scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and mentorship for operating room nurses and surgical technicians.
• Enforce hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate resources, manage inventory, surgical instruments, and equipment procurement.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and pre/post-operative units to resolve issues and ensure high standards of patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree in a healthcare field.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in the operating room, with prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience and competency in labor and delivery, including assistance with C-sections.
• PACU experience required for patient recovery.
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
• Current KS or Multistate license required.
• Preferred experience in central sterile processing.

Additional Information

The Registered Nurse will be expected to participate in on-call rotations specific to obstetric-related emergencies. Housing options are available in the vicinity, and scrubs will be provided. The position also requires the ability to assist with pain management across various specialty clinics, including podiatry and general surgery.
