Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care in a telemetry unit, focusing on patients with various medical conditions. The position requires a commitment to maintaining patient safety, comfort, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor patient care in a telemetry unit.
- Interpret and document telemetry strips at least once per shift.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Float to other units as required, based on staffing needs and qualifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry or similar environment.
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
- Experience in reading basic telemetry strips, CVA, and TIA.
- Cerner experience is recommended due to limited orientation time.
- Experience with total joint replacement patients is preferred.
Work Schedule
This position requires night shifts with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Schedules are made for four weeks and utilize self-scheduling practices, subject to managerial approval.
Job Requirements
- Must work every other weekend—2 weekends in a 4-week period.
- Holiday requirements include working 2 days during Christmas and New Year's, along with 2 days on Thanksgiving.
- Dress code is navy blue scrubs.
Additional Information
One shift of unit-specific orientation will be provided. This position may involve floating to different areas as needed, with a nurse aide to patient ratio of 1:10-15.
The successful candidate must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing. Failure to achieve an 80% score within two attempts will lead to a six-month do not use (DNU) restriction for specified locations.
