Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics, managing a variety of conditions including cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient health and progress.
- Titrate and manage IV drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain open communication with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and progress.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate health records.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Ability to pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%.
Shift Details
- Shifts are from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700.
- Must work every other weekend and every third holiday.
Unit Information
- Bed capacity: 35.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 during shifts.
- Patient care tech ratios: 1:10 or 2:20 on the unit.
- Orientation includes 1-2 days on the unit following a week of onboarding.
Additional Information
This role requires strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a positive attitude. Candidates must adhere to the fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas, and must be committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all patients.
