Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 PM or 1:4 AM, 1:5 PM (with patient care techs)
• Unit Staffing: Primarily RN-based care, with scheduled secretarial support from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Type of Equipment: BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full-Time Staff: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
  • Part-Time Staff: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
  • PRN 1 Staff: 3 shifts in a 4-week period with 1 weekend shift requirement
  • PRN 2 Staff: 6 shifts in a 4-week period with 3 weekend shift requirements
• Floating Policy: PRN staff float one time per week; full-time and part-time staff float based on rotation.
• Patient Experience Standards: Includes bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience managing vasoactive drips
• Typical Procedures: Central Line or PICC line placements
• Ideal Candidate: Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork

Dress Code

Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms. Black or charcoal grey jackets, with unit-specific options available.
