Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. This position requires a Night Shift schedule with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Unit: ER (Emergency Room)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in ER
• Orientation: 2 shifts for unit/department-specific orientation
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Required to work holidays

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing compassionate and efficient care to patients of all ages experiencing various conditions, including:

• Chest pain
• Abdominal pain
• Cough/congestion
• Orthopedic injuries
• ENT emergencies
• Sepsis
• Stroke

Common treatments may involve:

• Administering antibiotics and narcotics
• Delivering anti-emetics and vaccines
• Utilizing emergency medications

The nurse will collaborate with other healthcare professionals and may occasionally take on charge nurse responsibilities when required. The ER department does not have a heavy volume on the night shift, allowing for a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience: 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting

Additional Information

Please note that artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Candidates will be required to remove such nails before commencing work. An open book examination covering skills learned will be administered during orientation, with a passing score of 90% required for successful completion.

This role is located in a smaller ER that may transfer patients to other facilities as needed. The department is committed to creating a positive and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
