Unit Information

Location: Derby, KS

• Number of Beds: 52
• Number of Staff: 134
• Staffing Pattern:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod
• Patient Ratios: Average 3:1, low acuity 5:1, Pediatric patients handled through team nursing (estimated ratios, not guaranteed)
• Type of Equipment: Alaris
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech

Job Responsibilities

• Provide care and emergency assistance to patients in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and perform IV starts.
• Conduct pediatric assessments and emergency sedations as needed.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Emergency Department RN
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC certifications
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Blue Card
  • Experience in travel nursing or experience working in large facility settings
• Preferred:
  • ENPC certification
  • Experience with Meditech EMR
  • Experience in facilities larger than 52 beds
