Respiratory Therapist

Shift Information:

Shifts may vary between day and night based on operational needs, requiring 3 or 4 shifts per week. On-call responsibilities, holiday coverage, and overtime may be required, with no leave requests approved during this period.

Job Description:

A Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is a skilled professional trained in the technical aspects of respiratory care. This role encompasses the delivery of respiratory therapy modalities, emergent and intensive respiratory care, and diagnostic procedures. Coverage is provided 24 hours a day, requiring rotational day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and modalities.
  • Provide emergent and intensive respiratory care.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures related to respiratory function.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver quality patient care.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in respiratory care or equivalent education (certificate of completion in respiratory care).
  • Two (2) years of experience in respiratory care in a general or acute hospital setting.
  • Current and valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP Certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current and valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license from any state within the United States, Puerto Rico, or any U.S. territory.
  • Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials.
