Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures.
Schedule
- Orientation: Mandatory orientation will be billable.
- Initial Schedule: Monday 8-hour day shift; subsequent shifts to be determined.
- Regular Schedule: 10-hour shifts, rotating from Monday to Friday.
- Weekend Requirement: On-call availability is required.
- Holiday Requirement: On-call availability is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of surgical rooms and equipment.
- Provide care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and manage their care through various procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in continuous education and professional development.

The RN will be involved in a variety of surgical specialties, including:
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Urology
- Robotic Surgery (Davinci)
- Orthopedics
- Neurosurgery and Spine
- Podiatry
- ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat)
- Plastic Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Ophthalmology (Eyes)
- Trauma
Qualifications
- Must have a current Alaska nursing license.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; 5 years preferred.
- Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS required.
- New graduates are not accepted for this position.
Compensation and Benefits
Free housing is provided for one occupant; however, pet units are not available. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
